Çağla Demirel. In Researching Divided Societies: Methods, Ethics and Positionality, pp. 141–158, 2024.
Abstract
A methodological reflection on using memorials, museums and commemorative routes as sources for the study of victimhood narratives. The chapter discusses what it means to compare sites of suffering across very different conflicts, and how a researcher’s own position shapes what a memory site is allowed to say.
